Permission To Keep Shops And Establishments Open On All Days Of The Year in Tamil Nadu

The Government of Tamil Nadu vide notification No. II(2)/LWSD/435(a)/2022 permitted all shops and establishments to keep open throughout the year, for three years under the Tamil Nadu Shops and Establishments Act, 1947. Additionally, the notification provides for employing women employees to work at night subject to the prescribed conditions.

Online Registration And Renewal Of License For Factories In Puducherry

The Government of Puducherry vide order No. 4654/CIF&B/2022/703, mandated the registration and renewal of licenses for factories, under the Factories Act, 1948, to be made online through the website of the Puducherry Labour Department. The circular also directs users to download the final certificate through the online portal.

Grant Of Holiday On Account Of General Election In Haryana

The Government of Haryana vide Notification No. Elec-2022/IR-II/PSCE/Hol/16862 declared holiday on the 19th of June 2022, on account of the General Election, for all Shops and Establishments situated within the respective Municipal Committees and Municipal Councils.

Declaration Of Rate Of Interest For The Employees’ Provident Fund Member Account For The Year 2021-22

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) vide notification No. INV-11/2/2021-INV/4670 dated June 03, 2022, declared 8.10% as the rate to credit interest to the account of each member of the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, 1952, for the year 2021-22.

Conditions For Exemptions From Restrictions On Employing Women Workers During Night Shifts In State Of Haryana

The Government of Haryana vide notification No. 17217, provided the conditions for exemptions from restrictions on employing women workers in night shifts by IT/ITEs, banking institutions, three-star or above hotels, hundred percent export-oriented establishments, logistics, and warehousing establishments. The conditions include the prevention of acts of sexual harassment, complaint redressal mechanism, prior consent from women workers for such employment, etc.

Permission To Keep Establishments Open On All Days Of The Year In Punjab

The Government of Punjab vide Notification No. 21/08/2017-4L/484, permitted all establishments under the Punjab Shops and Establishments Act, 1947, to keep open throughout the year for a further period till 31st May 2023, subject to prescribed conditions.

Work Hour Accommodation For Municipal And Panchayat Election In The State Of Madhya Pradesh

The Government of Madhya Pradesh vide Circular No. 9/27/Three/2022/22991-23171, requires the shops and establishments to allow the eligible workers to arrive four hours late or leave four hours early or be absent for four hours during the day on 6th July 2022 (Tuesday) and 13th July 2022 (Wednesday) on account of Municipal and gram panchayat elections.

The Kerala Minimum Wages Notification (April 2022)

The Government of Kerala, Labour and Skills (E) Department has revised the variable dearness allowance for employment in Shops and Commercial Establishment and employment in Computer Software Sector. As per the Notification No.DES/859/2022-P3(1), the Consumer Price Index (Cost of Living Index) Numbers applicable to employees in employment under the Minimum Wages Act (Central Act XI of 1948) for the month of April 2022 ascertained by the Director General of Economics & Statistics under clause (C) of Section 2 of the Act.

Grant Of Paid Holiday On Account Of Bye-Election In Delhi

The Government of NCT of Delhi vide notification F.184/Addl.LC/Holiday-Election/2019/ 3132-3137, announced paid holiday on June 23, 2022, on account of Bye-Election of 3 Parliamentary Constituencies and 7 Assembly Constituencies. The employers of Industrial Establishments/Factories /Shops and Commercial Establishments in NCT of Delhi shall grant a paid holiday to their employees who are electors of the constituency mentioned above to enable them to cast their vote on the day of polling.

Declaration of Paid Holiday on Account of Panchayat General Election in West Bengal

The Government of West Bengal vide Notification no. Labr./601/(LC-IR)/IR/7S-06/17 declared paid holiday on the 26th of June, 2022 on account of the Panchayat General Elections in the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad. Every employer of any business, trade, industrial undertaking or any other establishments in all areas pertaining to Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad in the district of Darjeeling, to which elections have been notified are obligated to grant paid holiday on the day of Poll to their workmen who are voters in the said constituency areas.

The Government of West Bengal vide notification no. Labr./600/(LC-IR)/IR/7S-06/17, declared paid holiday on the 26th of June, 2022 on account of the Municipal Elections in six Municipalities mentioned in the notification. Every employer of any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or any other establishments in all areas of six Municipalities, to which elections have been notified are obligated to grant paid holiday on the day of Poll to their workmen who are voters in the said constituency areas.

The Government of Haryana vide notification No. 11/6/2022-4Lab, provided the conditions for factories applying for the exemption for employing women during the night shift. The conditions include measures for the security and safety of women employees, which include the prevention of acts of sexual harassment, provision for transportation facilities, the requirement of prior consent from women workers, etc.

ESIC Extended Medical Benefit In The Bajali District Of Assam

The Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) vide notification No. N-17011/1/2022-P&D, extended medical benefits, under the Employees’ State Insurance (General) Regulations, 1950, and the Assam Employees’ State Insurance (Medical Benefit) Rules, 1958, to the families of insured persons in the entire area of Bajali district in the State of Assam, with effect from 1st June 2022.

Grant Of Paid Holiday On Account Of Bye-Election In Sangrur, Barnala, Malerkotla District Of Punjab

The Government of Punjab vide notification No.21/07/2015-5L/77 declared paid holiday on account of bye-elections to be held on June 23, 2022, in Sangrur, Barnala, Malerkotla District. The employers of factories in the said districts shall declare the day of polling as a close day for employees who are the voters of the said district.

Exemption From Section 52(1) Of The Factories Act, 1948, On Account Of General Election In Ward No. 08 Of Municipal Committee, Safidon, Jind District Of Haryana

The Government of Haryana vide Notification No. F.W./Election-2022 19470, exempted the workers, enrolled as voters in Ward No. 08 (booth numbers 13 & 14) of Municipal Committee, Safidon, Jind District, from the operation of Section 52(1) of the Factories Act, 1948, regarding weekly holidays, for the week commencing from June 26, 2022, till July 02, 2022, on account of general elections in the said Ward, to be held on June 24, 2022. Such workers shall not be required or allowed to work on the election day.

Enforcement Of Provisions From ESI Act In Thoothukudi Districts Of Tamil Nadu

The Government of India vide notification S.O. 2858(E) implemented the provisions from Chapter IV (Contribution), Chapter V (Benefits), and Chapter VI (Adjudication of Disputes and Claims) of the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948, in all the areas of Thoothukudi district in the State of Tamil Nadu, effective from 1st day of July 2022.

The Draft Amendment To The Uttar Pradesh Dookan Aur Vanijya Adhishthan Niyamawali, 1963

The Government of Uttar Pradesh vide Notification No. 1089/XXXVI-03-2022-14(Sa.)/2019, proposed the draft Uttar Pradesh Dookan Aur Vanijya Adhishthan (Navam Sanshodhan) Niyamawali, 2022, amending the provisions on the procedure registration and renewal of license. The amendments are still in draft, and the government has invited objections and suggestions till the expiry of three days from the date of publication of the draft rules.
