Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation: Bopal-Ghuma & Others Are Added


Bopal-Ghuma now part of southwest zone of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation | Ahmedabad News – Times of IndiaAHMEDABAD: After the notification of merging several areas including Bopal-Ghuma, Chiloda-naroda and Kathwada in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, the corporation has announced that Bopal-Ghuma Nagar Palika will now be a part of the South West Zone which includes Jodhour, Maktampura, Sarkhej and Vejalpur wards.

AMC has announced Chiloda-Naroda will be in the North Zone while Kathwada will be in east zone. The AMC has also said that the some of the areas of seven-gram panchayat which are merged will be included in the nearby zone. For example, Sanathal and Visalpur will be in Southwest zone while Khodiyar will be in North West Zone.

A senior officer said that once the takeover is made effective the elected wing of the Bopal-Ghuma Nagar Palika would no longer exist and the residents will have to approach the south west zone office or the office of the new west zone near Judges bungalow. The officials said even online complaints and complaints at Nagar Palika Office in Bopal Will be entertained.
The officials said that even for the health issues the AMC health team would be now incharge and will take care of fogging and other activities as an when required.

The AMC has on Friday issed orders and has even directed its staff to report at the respective Nagar Palikas and Gram panchayat and prepare a list of the Nagar Palikas and gram Panchayat properties and its assets.

However, a senior officer from the Nagar Palika said that they are getting queries of the take over would mean that the torrent power would now come in the area for power supply. He said that at present the Uttar Gujarat VIj Company Limited will continue to supply power to Bopal-Ghuma as it was doing so in case of Sarkhej where UGVCL was still supplying power.
