The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced two major changes that will make the claim process smoother and faster.
🔹 No more cheque leaf or attested passbook uploads!
Previously, EPF members had to upload a cancelled cheque or an attested copy of their bank passbook while filing claims. Now, if your bank account is already linked and verified with your UAN, this requirement has been removed!
🔹 No employer approval needed for UAN bank seeding!
Earlier, employees had to wait for their employer’s approval to seed their bank account with UAN. Now, EPFO will auto-approve the request after verifying with the bank or NPCI.
💡 What this means for employees:
– Faster claim settlements
– Reduced paperwork & hassle-free process
– Fewer claim rejections
This new EPFO circular is effective from April 3, 2025. 📅
